Where Have All the Members Gone, Long Time Ago

Where Have All the Members Gone, Long Time Ago

2004-03-14 by emf

Hey, somebody put the plug back in the drain. We had more than 990
members 24 hrs. ago, and now we're down to 981? I'm supposed to get
an email from Yahoo every time somebody resigns. I haven't received
one notification since the recent plunge. In December, we were
getting ready to celebrate what looked to be the inevitable 1,000
mark, and now we appear to be on a downward spiral. Is it something
we said? Actually, it's probably a rash of dabblers and non-English
speakers who are going in and out over the weekend, but can't any of
them just join without opting for email and just stay enrolled?
Geesh. We're going to have to start giving away free toasters.

I'm reminded of a line from This Is Spinal Tap. The band's
popularity isn't waning, it's just that their appeal is becoming
more selective. :-)

Chris,

Thankfully, there's a good, or bad, excuse for every occasion. To me,
the DTXpress Group is like a good head of hair. Sometimes it needs a
trim around the edges so that it can grow longer without the ends
thinning.

Ed,

I noticed that there was something wrong with the counter about a
month ago, but haven't had time to contact Yahoo to clarify want is
going on.

In the past two months we have added something (I can't log on to my
office email, it is down, so these numbers are approximate.) 75
members and lost 25 members but the number has stayed the same on the
counter. My thoughts are that some of the members are being put on
the bouncing list and are not being counted. Even when I started
keeping track of members, the numbers never really balanced out with
the counter here. I will put that on my list of things to do to
verify with Yahoo, what is and what is not included in the counter.

OGD,

As always, thanks for your vigilant eye.

Hi!

I'm still here. I've been working 50+ hours a week and still manage to find
time to practice every day, jam once in a while with other women, collaborate
with my new guitar player, and hang out with friends.

Steph,

Glad to know you're still with us. I've seen your traces at Zilla's
place.
