Attention Members Making First Post

Attention Members Making First Post

2004-05-17 by oldguydrummer

Just a reminder.

All first posts from members are moderated, which means that one of
the three moderators (Ed/Vern/OGD) must review the post first and
approve it before it will post to the group. These first posts are
sent via email to us if our accounts are setup that way, or if we are
online, we see a catagory called "Pending", that we can just check
off the post as "approved".

If we are not readily available, your first post may take a little
bit of time to show up under the Messages section. So hold off double
posting, because you think that it didn't go through.

Once you have posted your first message and it is a legitimate drum
related post, then we will change your posting status
to "unmoderated", at which point your future posts should appear soon
after you submit it. (Again, if we are not nearby, it may take a
short time for one of us to change your posting status.)

This moderating of members first post was implimented to stop the
porn/spam that was being posted to the group. We discovered that
spammers/porn advertisers first posts are the bad ones. When
porn/spam is sent to the group, the moderators will still get them,
but we can prevent them from being posted here and we can remove that
member and ban their email address from further activity here.

Thanks.

Yep fully understand and accept the message - its a good policy,
however just to mention I think it only double posted cause my
browser kinda stuck as I was sending the message - it was not
because I was too hasty!! :o). Also this wasn't my first post
either, I have posted before, anyway never mind.
