GREETINGS: A little feedback. I have a set of sony headphones, and I
am considering upgrading. I want to spent around 100.00. Any and
all suggestions would be appreciated. Jerry

Jerry,

Based on the suggestions of this group I bought the Audio Technica
ATH-M40FS which I am very pleased with. As was said at the time -
they are not top of the range, but good. Only 1/4" jack (no 3.5mm).
There is an extended bass version the ATH-D40FS, but I decided on the
flat response version.

I am not sure of the price in the USA, but I would think less than $100.

Beware of curly cords - I bought some with a curly cord and had to
return them as I tied myself in knots drumming with them. They were
Sennheiser HD280 which sounded very good but also squashed my head
somewhat (6N pressure rather than around 2N for the ATH ones I think).
This can be a problem if you wear spectacles.

The AKG K271 were recommended to me but were a bit expensive.

Keith.

Jerry
ATH-D40FS are good phones for <$70-RicksMusic. If you can spend more
you may do better, but these are a good choice for the $$

Bose triports will ruin all other headphones for you, if you don't
want to spend a 150 bucks then don't even try them on, once they cup
your ears you are out a buck fifty....... I spent many miles and
hours looking for the perfect headphones, tried them all, online
shopping for sound I cannot do , certain things online sure, but when
it comes to sound it must meet your ears expectations, why sit down
at a 1200 dollar drumkit with crappy sound.
Peace....

Hi,

I saw on musician's friend.com the had some 'Extreme Isolation'
headphones which I was considering to reduce stick noise while
playing the DTXpress. But I also have good isolation from stick
noise and are likely a better all around set that the Extreme
Isolation one's.
