Softsynth / software drum module / drum samples w/DTXpress

2004-06-08 by gollywillickers

hi,

i'm using DTXpress II and recording on ProTools/Mac.

i want a wider, better selection of drum sets and sounds to choose from than
i've got in the DTXpress II brain.

i have SampleTank Le and it has 2 or 3 drum kits but the midi notes are
assigned DIFFERENT than the DTXpress.

is there a Yamaha SOFTSYNTH / SOFT-DRUM MACHINE that would work
OUT OF THE BOX with proper midi note assignments and great sounds?

any smart suggestions would be helpful,

thx

Why not just change the MIDI note numbers? Usually, the Yamaha
modules differ only on the snare and kick. But even if that's not so
in this case, you can match them up without too much trouble.

One thing I noticed and haven't played with it much is that when
using something like Battery you don't get the "variable" hihat pedal
action... it's either open or closed :( so far I'm not really
impressed with triggering outside sounds, maybe I've had a bad
experience so far but I'm skeptic now :(
