If it is the battery, it is easily replaced. If you look at the
photos in the gallery here, you will see that it is a simple button
style battery. Just remove two screws on each side of the module, one
one on the back, remove the cover and the battery is easily
accessible. The battery is available at Radio shack or most stores
that carry button style batteries.
If it is a true memory issue and it is out of warranty, they is not
much inside the module that can be just "swapped" out, again you can
see this in the photos.
