Deaf Drummer up and running!

2004-07-05 by Stephanie Ellison

Hey everyone:

I finalized my web site up and running (deafdrummer.org), and I have a couple
of pics of me there. I'll add more pics at time goes on.

Hi Stephanie, I noticed that you use a mixer, which shows up in your
pictures on your web-site. Which mixer do you use? And, do you like it
or would you choose something different after using it? Which one do
you think does the best job for the money? I was considering the
Behringer UB-802, however, after looking at them I was thinking about
either stepping up to the Behringer UB-1202 for $20.00 more or maybe
even the Behringer Europack UB-1204 FX-Pro. Do you have any input in
regards to these mixers?

Thanks,
Glen

Glen,
I'm not Stephanie, but let me tell you: Do yourself and your sound a
favor and go with a Yamaha MG series mixer instead of anything
Behringer - much better construction, better mic-pres, and the
circuitry is extremely quiet compared to the Behringers. They even
smoke the (more expensive) comparable Mackie CR series mixers.

I don't know what I got to do with it, but #1 it's what I could afford, #2 I'm
not recording in a professional studio, #3 and I needed a way to route the
signals from my computers, e-drum set, and amplifier, not to mention the
guitar and bass guitar when we play. I got tired of changing out wires and
taking turns on recording. If we want professional recording, we're going to
go to a studio and do it there. The acoustics are not that good here in my
place.
