Korg DW8000, Mono/Poly, MS-20...

i have recently acquired a another ex8000.... it doesn't produce any sound at 
all... until you send midi data at which point it starts a hissing/humming 
noise that remains constant regardless of which patch is selected and what 
values are set on the parameters.

i've check all of the midi settings... i'm fairly sure that some connection 
has come loose or that one of the circuits must be fried... does anyone else 
have any idea?

could we ever chip in together and buy the ex8000 and dw8000 service manuals? 
i've seen them on ebay in the past......
