Hi Mark, i use to have a Poly-800 and i must admit, that it sounds like a load of sh*t. The "Moog-Slayer"-Mod is nothing different than moving the internal Potentiometers for Cutoff and Resonance outside of the case; but imo it doesnt make the sound (or "overall feeling/touch") better. Its a matter of Taste, but imo it has the typical "electronic Postcard"-Sound. If i were you, i would sell the Poly-61 and buy a DW-8000 (a Polysix also doesnt sound bad, but it hasnt as much possibilities than the 8000 and it is nowadays too expensive). I have the EX-8000; it isnt very useful for special things like Effects, but can produce -very- good smooth Strings, Flutes etc. Stef Mark Daborn wrote: > > Hi, i'm new to the group having just got hold of a Poly 61 for 100. > It's far simpler to use than i thought it would be and although it's > quite funky, i'm having trouble getting the timing of the arpeggiator > to get anywhere near the tempo of my tracks! > I was torn between this and the poly800.
