Yes...I did that several years ago and if I recall, I simply replaced the upper felt strip. If I recall, you can't do the lower strip because of the rubber contact strip but the clacking is caused by the keys returning to the upper position anyway. So the new felt dampens that. BWT, I bought the felt at my local Home Center (HD) and it was the heavier maroon colored felt that works best... totally restored the action! > > Hope this helps...
