Any suggestion for a good controller for the DW8000? I just got one off of eBay and I love the sounds but hate the interface.

I really like the Behringer BCR2000.
You can use the BCR2k by itself, but to get the Korg to reset all the BCR2k controls when you change a patch you need an Arduino or PC in the middle.
You can have a look at my attempts in this video. It really feels like the BCR2k is part of the Korg
I only have a DW6000, but I rewrote the software to work with the DW8k

there are a few options i know of:

using a behringer bcr2000, as detailed here (annoyingly big, and takes some effort, but works):

there are probably others, but those were the best options i found as of several months ago. i ended up using a bcr2000. it's annoyingly big, but it works well.
also if you spend some time getting used to the interface of the actual synth, it's not as bad as it seems at first.

I use Kiwitechnics Patch Editor.
There is also a DW8000 preset for Lemur if you like touchscreen.
