A new KORG DS-8 page

A new KORG DS-8 page

2004-05-03 by sealed

Hi,

I made a new KORG DS-8 page. DS-8 is an FM synthesizer with a Virtual
Analog editing interface.
It includes:

* DS-8 information and links
* DS-8 editor for Emagic SoundDiver
* Sound Examples

Please visit my site and tell me what you think.

Thanks,
Sealed

I don't mean to be a grump, but this should have been posted into a
DS-8 group. Also, you are misusing the term 'virtual analog' - what
that means is analog modeling (digital synths that model analog
synthesis in software). There is nothing about the DS-8 that is
virtual analog. What you mean to say is that it uses analog-style
editing parameters to shape the FM sounds.

Hi, Glen.

Sorry for disturbing the group.
Our group's top page says that it supports many classic KORGs incl. DS-
8. But I see DS-8 message in a DW8000 group may look unusual.

As for the term VA, it's exactly the way you clarified. I said just how
the interface can be seen.

Best,
Sealed

wow. way to be a jerk for no good reason whatsoever. frankly, i'm glad to be
introduced to this ds-8 resource, and i doubt i'm the only one.

Good. Then here's my DSS-1 Resource Site:
http://glenstegner.com/dss1

Posted here in the DW-8000 group for no good reason at all.

Thanks for the info... i also owned the dss-1, but now i've got the dsm-1
module. Anyone with a support site for an early/mid-80's korg synth should
definitely add it to the 'links' section.

here's the yahoo description of this korg group, as was written when i
created the group years ago:
"A group designed to benefit users of (mostly classic) Korg synthesizers (Ex:
DW-6000, DW-8000, DSS-1, DS-8, Mono/Poly, Poly-800, Poly-61, M1, Wavestation,
MS-2000, etc.) (Eventually) with patch files, polls, and very useful general
information. "

Thank you for your interest and acceptance, mutemath.
I visited Glen's site, and I too find it a great resource. I was impressed
seeing DSS-1 when I was a child, and now I'm interested in its synthetic
function.

Best,
Sealed

Apology to 'Sealed'

2004-05-05 by Glen Stegner

I'd like to extend my formal apology to Sealed for writing that hasty
rant. Sorry. I guess I didn't read the charter for this group, I
now see it's about discussing other Korg gear.

Glen
