I am new here! Help

I am new here! Help

2006-01-22 by Erik

I just got my hands on a DW8000 and want to restore the factory
settings as a starting point... Whoever had this thing before me really
made a mess....

Any help would be greatly appreciated

This is easily done, with a choice of two different methods:

(Method 1): Go to the files section of this User Group, and look for the file "DW8000 WAV Banks", and download that (it's a big download)... then hook up an audio cable from your PC's speaker-out to the cassette interface on the back of your DW8000. Playing the WAV file from your computer is equivalent to playing the original factory patchbank tape from a cassette player. Do the same procedure that you would when loading patchbanks from cassette.

(Method 2): If you have a MIDI interface on your PC, this is the preferred (and more flexible) method. Download Anthony Ruggieri's DW8000 Editor for the PC at his site: http://www.anthonyruggeri.com/media/zip/dw8000.zip and also grab the factory and user patch banks http://www.anthonyruggeri.com/media/zip/apana.zip to use with this software. This method actually allows you to break up the banks into separate patches and rearrange them any way you wish. It is also an editor!! (individual sliders for each function on the synth!).

Thanks, this is working slowly but surely.......

What does the following message mean

Program No 7a Parameter no PE

It seems like I am playing along fine, but then when I go to adjust the
Value on the ly it shuts down and gives me this.... then I have to power off and
power back on.

Thanks All

Hi

7APE
TAPE - it's telling you that tape dump mode has been enabled.

Slide the switch at the back to disable.

Perhaps your switch is faulty?

Cheers

Chris

You returned it??

I hope that switch was REALLY not the problem.. because replacing it
wouldn't have been very difficult.
