Unidentified dw-8000 modifications

2008-04-06 by iqqmut79

Hi! I have recently bought a used dw-8000 that has an additional 6.3mm
connector and potentiometer installed on its backplate. I'd like to
know if anybody had any idea on what are these for. I traced the leads
to blocks 19a and ic2 on the circuit board (for those who have the
schematics available). I'd be very grateful if somebody could help me
with thisone :) .

I've heard rumors about an old mod that supposedly let you use an external input for the digital delay unit in the DW-8000. If it's that, then the potentiometer might be an input level/gain control, allowing you to turn your DW into a digital delay processor (for vocals, guitars etc).
I'm not savvy on the circuit boards, unfortunately, so I couldn't say for sure, but it might be worth a try.
