For anyone who is running Snow Leopard and has had trouble with their 2200, here is a possible fix relating to the driver. I was fortunate to speak with a top-notch (US based) Epson support tech who afterward, emailed the procedure and invited me to post it wherever I thought it could help. At present, the correct driver for the Epson 2200 (v8.27) can only be download from Apple, not Epson. Once installed, it worked perfectly for me. Of equal importance, the person I spoke with renewed my confidence in their Technical Support. He was extremely kind, patient and knowledgable. Hope this is beneficial. John Lewis ************************ Dear John: As per our conversion earlier regarding Stylus Photo 2200 and Snow Leopard, follow the steps below to obtain correct and current printer drivers through Apple Software Update. Hopefully, this information will be helpful. Installing the correct Snow Leopard drivers through Apple's Software Update. 1. Ensure the printer is connected to the computer. 2. From the Apple menu, choose Software Update. 3. Software Update checks for available updates. In the Software Update window, select Epson Printer Drivers v2.4, then click Install. Usually, you should install all available updates. 4. Enter an administrator account name and password. 5. After installation is complete, restart the computer. 6. Click on Apple > System Preferences > Print and Fax 7. The printer should now be added on the printer list if not, click the (+) button, click on the Stylus Photo 2200 then click ADD. 8. Verify that the driver (listed next to "kind" in the Print & Fax window) does not say Gutenprint. 9. Click on Options and Supplies, confirm that the driver version is v8.27 10. Try printing now and accessing printer utility. Accessing the Printer Utility in Mac 10.6 (Snow Leopard) To access the Status Monitor, follow the steps below: 1. Click on Apple > System Preferences > Print and Fax 2. Highlight the Stylus Photo 2200 3. Click on Open Print Queue. 4. Click on Printer Setup. 5. Click on Utility. 6. Click on Open Printer Setup. 7. The Printer Utility will open up and you can select Status Monitor to access the ink levels. Thank you again for contacting Epson. James M
