Hello Alex..

Based on my experience with the exact same combo"

1: You are NOT getting good nozzle checks..You Need to run some cleaning cycles.. and re-check.

2: You may have "over-filled" one or more of your cartridges..Inks should be no more than 1/4" from the top of the cartridges..Are you SURE you have ALL the cartridges in the correct positions/With the correct ink installed for eacH cartridge?..If you have overfilled then, you can take your needle syringe and draw out about enough ink until you're 1/4" from the top..

3: Re-install your carts and run a couple cleaning cycles followed by nozzle checks..You can also run several "purge-patterns" you can find on the MIS site.

4.0 While on the MIS site, be sure to re-read Paul Roark's tutorial on this ink/printer combo....I have found it pretty easy to get exemplary results with this system..

Good Luck!

Eddie

Subject: [Digital BW] please help newbie with 1400 and ut 14 inks

i have just installed ut 14 inks (which i refilled myself, obviously) into epson 1400 printer. i definitely messed up something somewhere along the way since my prints are extremely pale and ink spills on pages like a black rain. i printed just four pages and i have uploaded them to show the problem:

scan 008 and scan 009 are the first and second nozzle checks that i did
scan 010 is the first photo that i tried to print and
scan 011 is my third nozzle check.

please give me some ideas what i should check to troubleshoot this problem. thank you very much for your help!
