>PhotoRag has optical brighteners in it...so it will eventually turn yellow >if left in light. ... I have not been following all of this thread, so please excuse me if this is out in left field. I fade tested some Hahnemuhle German Etching paper. I think I was once told these papers use the same coating. If so, the yellowing I saw may be the same as what the PhotoRag would experience. After 500 hours in the florescent light fader (well beyond where most yellowing occurs and then stops), the X-Rite spectrophotometer shows 0.01 unit density increase in yellow. This is half what EAM experienced in the same time and test. The specific numbers are as follows (in order: cyan, magenta, yellow, visual): Hahnemuhle German Etching: Control: 0.02, 0.03, 0.04, 0.02+ (2 of 3 readings at 0.02), 500 Hr: 0.02, 0.03, 0.05, 0.03; Epson Archival Matte: Control: 0.04, 0.04, 0.03, 0.04 500 Hr: 0.04, 0.04, 0.05, 0.04. While the EAM is quite visibly yellowed, the Hahnemuhle paper is what I'd call slightly yellowed. I'm not sure that one would see the differences in the Hahnemuhle paper if a new and "yellowed" print were under glass on display and separated by a reasonable amount. For comparison, check out this Legion Photo Matte after 300 hours: Control: 0.05+, 0.05, 0.01, 0.05 300 Hr: 0.05, 0.05, 0.04+, 0.05. Paul http://www.PaulRoark.com
