Digital BW, The Print

Ok.so I tried to make an old Epson 1280 that had been sitting around work
for anything more than text. (see my post on Epson 1280 woes)

The other issue is that I am using Kirkland paper at the suggestion on MIS
site.

I am not getting anywhere near the results either in B&W or color.

 

So, what I am faced with is that I need a more up to date printer using high
end paper that will have profiles available.

 

Using MIS UTN or UT2 ink would be my preference.

What Epson printer would give me more than 8x10, do well with MIS inks and
be on the low end of my budget?

 

I know this is a huge question, but any suggestions would be appreciated
from you all.
