i1Profiler is a v1.0 product release, and bringing it to market was apparently arduous enough to face constant delays. Now that users have their hands on it, including me, everyone's hair is on fire over one issue or another. If you have Monaco Platinum, you have one of the best pieces of color management software ever. I upgraded from Gold as I needed CMYK+ profiling ability, but if I had PLatinum, given the info coming out now about the new product, I'd hold off just a bit to see how things work out amongst the user base. Platinum is great, no need to feel you are lacking anything by not upgrading yet. Even though they are both profiling packages, with Monaco and Colorport there are many little things you are used to having at hand the new software may or may not do other than just making profiles... The upgrade discounts may run out over time, so there's that, but otherwise this is not a decision to jump into lightly. For those of you with an i1 design LT package, this is a good deal. For the rest of us that spent serious coin it appears to be a grumble and deal with it. I did send them an email saying that this was not the most equitable for those of us with Profiler Platinum, but I doubt they will do anything about it, the bigger Xrite corporation doesn't really care that much about their customers, not like before the merger (at least in my experience). >
