Digital BW, The Print

My epson photo 2400 finally died. I need to get a new printer.  Mostly print black and white on either matte or glossy.  I no longer print a large number of prints, I am down to just a few a month.  Tired of refilling cartridges, cleaning etc.  I rarely print anything larger than 8x10.  Any suggestions regarding a printer that is around $600.00.  I loved the epson printer but was getting very tired of having to clean heads, wasted ink etc.  Thanks for any and all recommendations.
