adjusting tonality

2002-03-01 by Alan Zinn

Experts,

When printing a smooth quad-black step-wedge with the piezo driver which
adjustment method is best to change first once you have a correct appearing
screen image?

a. increase/decrease gamma
b. increase/decrease dot-gain
c. both
d. make curves adjustment

Which method has the best effect on fine-tuning close values?

Is it correct that for the Epson driver with a correct appearing screen
image adjustments in RGB settings in the print menu will give adequate
control over the output? Or should the gamma and curves be the first
adjustments?

thanks
