Trouble using custom print profiles within CS5 64-bit on Win7

2012-03-10 by togeorge626

I'm having trouble assigning Paul Roark's UT3D icc files to a picture file for printing via CS5 64-bit under Win7.

I have placed the files in the appropriate subdirectory at c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\color

I can see that the files are there, but CS5 does not seem to allow assigning one of these custom icc file to a print. So far all CS5 drop-down lists for specifying a printer profile for my 2200 gives me only the OEM generic 2200 files in the above sub-directory. I have gone through Control Panel to the Color Management area and there gone through the procedure to associate one of the new icc files with my printer. There is no error message when I do this, but the file is still not added to the 2200 list. I went through Edit Color Settings but I can find no mechanism to associate the new files either – all drop-downs contain only the system-provided generic files. I am clearly missing some critical concept, point or step in this process.
