I have never read a scanner review where the reviewer has raved about the sharpness of any epson scanner. They usually say the images are fairly soft, regardless of the scanners other qualities, which are usually rated very good. I've never seen a sharp scan from any epson scanner, and was wondering, does anybody on this list who uses any model of an epson scanner get REALLY sharp scans? If so, which model? They make several 1600 DPI scanners that use stepper motors, so the resolution is probably not a true 1600 DPI, but closer to 800 or 1200. Anyone know if this is really true?
