RE: [Digital BW] New Epson 1430

2012-08-30 by m venz

I haved had a similar experience. I also got freight free cartridges from ebay to replace my MIS ones. They are labelled 81n. The supplier also has a website. I got syringes there too.
I have managed to get a decent print using the Epson driver and the Paul Roark paper profile (Method 2 in Paul Roark's instructions) but I am having trouble getting a decent print using QTR and the QTR curve (RR Aurora EB6, Epson 1400) that I downloaded from Paul Roark. I wonder if my work flow is correct? After processing the print it is converted to Grey Gamma 2.2, then saved as a tiff. At this stage the photo looks Ok. From QTR it is printed using the paper specific curve as listed above. I have also tried converting the profile to the QTR matte paper and applying the PS curve GG2.2 to QTR that came with the Paul Roark downloads. These dont seem to make much difference. Does anyone have any suggestions. Have I missed some process? Thanks. Michael To: DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com

If your printer recognises the carts, make shure you have pulled the plugs out of the air vents, otherwise the ink wont flow because there will be a vacume in the cart. I solved my problem with carts not recognised by buying new carts from a supplier in Hong Kong on ebay. They work fine. My conclusion is that MIS customer service is pretty much worthless, they could have told me at the start. Eboni 6 has a nice tone though and nicely complements the printer I run piezography carbon K7 in. I am out of pocket a little though.

I am having a similar issue. The Epson 1430 is new (never installed with

color cartridges0, and the empty cartridges were filled per the eboni 6

fill instructions. My printer says that there are cartridges, but no ink is

coming out. I am going to continue searching the emails for instruction

about that part.

Thanks so much!!!
