If I recall correctly you do NOT have a successful profile for Eb-4 / Workforce 1100?  It would be good news if you did.

Profiles.zip for Arches Bright White. I set the ink limits to 45 initially, which is a bit too high for the dilute inks on Arches. (K boost is set to 90.) Then, however, I made the Eb6-C (30% Eboni) ink a "toner" instead of a "gray" ink, and I split the ink limits between the "gray" dilute inks and the "toner." The net result is a print that has a bit lower Lab B, more overlaps, and may be considered smoother, depending on how strong your magnification is. It will use less ink also due to the greater amount of more concentrated 30% Eboni being used (not that ink costs are very relevant with this ink).

The new QTR profile name is Eb6-ArchesBW-C-toner-A-9-2012.qidf

The "A" is for "automatic" -- there are no manually drawn curves here. It's all based on the QTR algorithms. I experimented with manually drawing the C curve, but the "automatic" curve linearized fine.

Linearization needs to be based on next day readings with Arches. The 100% black patch will get significantly darker -- Lab L goes from 21 with just a hair drier to 17.7 - 18 overnight (Density 1.6 - 1.61 after overnight dry-down).

This batch of Arches BW Hot Press 140 lb. (300 gsm) came from http://www.utrechtart.com/ and cost under $4/full sheet (22 x 30 inches). Most of the sheets in the sealed bags (from Canson, I assume) did have stickers on the corners of the backs. I have not purchased any Arches from Dick Blick in the last few months, so I can't say if they are still able to get paper without the stickers.

Note that in experimenting with Arches, I've found the paper sold in blocks does not have the relatively good dmax of the separate sheets. Avoid blocks.
