I use XG dye based clones from LYSON via INK2IMAGE..They are fantasic, and the color gamut isWIDE....I've been using the XG inks for over 5 years now with nary a problem,,AND I'm using them in conjunction with Red river Metallic and their Arctic Polar Gloss..The rsults look "liquid" on the print IMHO.. http://ink2image.com/Fotonic.html

  Mark,
Thanks for reminding me about Jon Cone and InkjetMall. I am aware of them from a few years back but had forgotten about it. I looked at the website last night and I think this is definitely a viable alternative. I could find the color pigment and BW inksets but not the dye set. The note said coming soon for Claria printers. Maybe I was in the wrong place. Can you send me a URL link?

Will you clarify what you mean by "1 clean cycle"? I think it means using a set of carts with cleaning solution and running a head clean cycle. OR? Excuse my ignorance, I have not switched a full set of cartridges before.

  Many thanks,

  Lynn

I've used both the color pigment and the b/w on the 1430 and it only takes 1 clean cycle to switch between the different inksets. haven't tried the dye based version. it's very inexpensive.
