I just checked the Epson driver GUI... you're right, there's a gloss box and you can check it or leave it unchecked. So I guess that also answers my followup question, which was do I use the Epson driver or QTR. The Epson driver it is. I'm not real keen on high gloss anyway. Back in the darkroom days my preferred finish was gloss FB paper dried on a fiberglass screen, then flattened in a drymount press. Gave me a nice semi-gloss surface.
