Diluting Claria Inks

2013-01-22 by remononaz1

All issues with the 1400 / 1430 cartridges aside, Paul, I'm very interested in your comment about diluting light magenta ink:

"You might want to just pull the colors out of the 1430 Claria carts and put it in the MIS carts. If you buy the Claria M (no LM), after you dilute it with the generic base (30% Claria M to 70% base), the cost of the LM becomes quite reasonable."

I find that the light magenta and light cyan inks are the ones that get used up fastest followed by black and yellow. Full strength magenta and cyan last forever.

What would the dilution for light cyan be? Which of your base solutions should be used in this?

Also, I find that the blues of skies and water with MIS color inks tend to be a bit green. Even if I only use the Epson ink for the light cyan, it would improve the look of using third-party MIS inks. (In the 1400, which does not seem to care what mix of cartridges I put in it!!!)
