Re: [Digital BW] Ideas on getting a Nikon LS2000 working on a Thunderbolt iMac?

2013-07-05 by David Whistance

Others might have managed it but I haven't managed to get SCSI working with windows since XP Pro. I'd keep you old PC, refresh it (reformat the disk reload XP Pro, then load up just the necessary software) and use that with the scanner. Do everything else on the new PC.

You will find the old PC is much faster and runs the scanner perfectly (as it will in perpetuity if not connected to the Internet!) whilst the new PC is much quicker for everything else.

However I'm using a ten year old PC, with a SCSI adapter card (Adaptec AHA-2940). I'm running XP Pro. I'm due for a new PC and I hope I can run Windows 7 on it, having heard bad reports on Windows 8.
