Hi
For my first run, I went with the carts and the bulk dilutions.
For the first fill up, it helps to have the six syringes; if you rinse them well, I don't see problems but there could be some water left that could dilute the ink a bit more. That's why the six syringes is a good buy.
Up to now, no problem at all
Good luck

Thanks, Jimbo and Paul,
In other words, the OEM color ink in the 1400 is not Ultra-Chrome. I wonder if there's a chart, summary somewhere to guide one through the ink thicket.
I neglected to mention that the set of Eb6 carts I just got are pre-filled from MIS. I thought for my original run with this 1400 I'd go with pre-filled carts, then may go to buying the various dilutions in bulk and do my own refills. By the way, is it necessary to have separate syringes for each dilution? Or is it sufficient to simply flush out a single syringe, but thoroughly?

Note that Eboni MK and the generic base are compatible with UC inks, but not the base MIS uses (or originally used) in Eb6. The 1400 OEM Claria is not a problem with Eb6.That said, Jimbo is correct that it's probably always best to flush. If you have some of the generic base, that works.I find it takes 2 cleaning cycles when I switch from color to B&W in my 1400. (I generally don't flush.)Paul
