Digital BW, The PrintI just saw something in my neighbors sons room that may be of interest here.. They painted one wall in his bedroom with magnetic paint.. I didn't know their was such a thing.. They got it from Home Depot.. Hanging prints this way would be a no brainer. Simply use magnets or the magnetic strips.. and yes it looks like it'll hold some weight.. subject to one's choice of magnets I'm sure.. They had a roll of magnetic strip that was about 1/8 think and maybe 1/2 wide.. this stuff looked pretty clean and visually non obtrusive to look at.. Might be worth looking at..

John,
I’m interested is doing something similar, but I’m afraid your description is unclear. Perhaps you could try again? Also, I know from personal experience that thumb tacks are very unreliable when used in sheetrock because they make a larger hole that the diameter of the pin. They will then dislodge easily.

I ended up making a simple wooden "shelf" that I stained black. It's made
from a one*two piece of (scrap) wood that has a smaller piece nailed to the front
to make a lip to hold pictures in. I'll be using simple straight pins (ie sewing)
to hold in my 16*20 matts. If they are portrait, a pin will be at one height,
landscape, a different height. The pins are small, non-obvious, when I
change a place from portrait<->landscape, I can take out the pin and simply
move it up or down to a pre-existing (tiny) hole. I should mention the wall
is sheet-rock, so I can stick a pin into it (this wouldn't work so well on
a concrete wall).
This was simple to make, it looks clean, and it has the flexibility I want.
I also used up some scrap wood from my stash in the garage. A win-win
result.
I hope this sparks ideas for other looking into this type of problem!
