My 1800 bit the dust quite a while ago.
Paul, what was the cleaning cart that developed the clog?
Eb6 in the 1400 is usually clog free -- a combination of a good printer and very low amounts of binder (if any) in the ink.
Eb6 is warmer than 100% Eb MK due to the dilutions. The warmest is the 18% (M & LK). On some papers you can hold the highlights down a bit by using what I call the "High Y" profiles that put more Y into the profile than a standard QTR profile will.
For display prints, the nature of the mat board affects the perception of warmth. The eye will do, in effect, a "white balance" on the nearest white source. The mat board, ideally, becomes that white point. Having one close to the maximum warmth of the Eb6 image is what I target. The image will thus look neutral. One board that seems to be close to ideal is Alpharag Artcare ";Pearl White," which in 8 ply 40x60 is #8647.8 I believe.
