Not to split hairs but there really is no such thing as "archival" inks, papers or prints. If you have a minute:

That said, both Canon and HP offer color pigment ink sets for their professional printers, but I think your looking for third party inks instead? The last time I checked, and its been a while, the HP Vivera inks tested very well compared to Canon or Epson. FYI, the grayscale output of the HP professional printers is the best I've seen from using a color ink set.

It is my understanding that Epson K3 ink is archival, and also the carbon inks from Jon Cone and MIS ...all pigment. Are there any archival  pigment inks for Canon or HP?    I had good B&W results with K3 and HPR paper.  The MIS inks were great, but I spent more time with my head inside the printer than making prints. I used MIS with an Epson 3000 and 7600. With the 7800, I caved in and used K3. I am not planning to buy another 24" printer, and I have some 220 ml carts to sell.
