Something is very wrong. I get beautiful prints from his workflow. THere are dozens of settings and if you have just one that is not correct, it can totally throw your prints off. That's why I asked you to post ALL of your settings. You are printing a RGB file, and your curve is loaded as an adjustment layer in photoshop? Heavy weight Matte setting for your paper? No color adjustment? 1440 DPI? Error Diffusion? Same as Source selected in the print dialogue box? Adobe RGB setting selected in Photoshop under color settings? Paul's curve is on TOP of all the other layers in your photoshop document? You should NOT get banding on the screen. if you do, something is very wrong. You MUST print a step wedge. It's the only way to tell what is going on. Make a black and white gradient in photoshop and posterize it to 21 steps. Load Paul's curve with all the above settings and see what you get.
