Re: [Digital BW] Imageprint 4 RIP and more

2002-03-13 by Michael Kravit

ImagePrint 4 controls the printer and enables it to do 8 passes of the head. This in effect exceeds the resolution of the Cone driver. BTW, it is not "Optical Resolution" that you are getting but an effective increase in printer dpi. In reality the printer is still a 760 dpi printer, but the multiple passes effectively increase the dpi.

Subject: [Digital BW] Imageprint 4 RIP and more

  hello!

I have read about the ImagePrint 4 RIP, and also something
about the Cone Piezography RIP (for Epson desktop printers),
that works as a Photoshop plugin and increases the optical
resolution of an EPSON printer by replacing the EPSON software
in favor of the Piezography broad-band microweave.

Does the Imageprint 4 RIP also increase the optical resolution,
or how is this rip compared to the Piezo RIP?
Or what else should make it a better choice?

Can I use the MIS FS and FS-Neutral inks with the standard
Epson driver, or is a rip needed for best result?

What about the Epson printers. I have both 1160 and 1290,
which one will give the best BW prints with MIS FS/N inks?

  Thanks for any help,
  Bjorn
