Jacquard offers 4 or 5 different silks in various weights each.. These all have a paper backing and I’ve never had issues peeling it. You can buy a swatch set and also buy sample rolls that give you plenty of material on a sample roll to profile it and test it.. A place to start would be the swatch set so you get a sense of the fabric.. Then maybe a sample roll or two.. When done right it’s very elegant. jimbo From: DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com [mailto:DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com] Sent: Friday, November 25, 2016 6:47 AM To: DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com Subject: [Digital BW] silk prints? A few years ago Breathing Color in the US offered rolls of silk printing material. It was a coated silk with paper backing. After printing, the paper was peeled off and the silk fabric mounted in a suitable way. Unfortunately, by the time I tried to order some they were discontinuing the product because of problems getting the paper off the silk. I was told that a better version was on the way. It never appeared. Do any of you know of a similar, currently-available product? Silk mounted on stretchers and framed with appropriately colored hardwood is very elegant, but I've only seen it with hand-painted images or non-photographic printing (I don't know the process used, but it was common in the 1980's and perhaps earlier).
