The only time I find I need 2 MKs is for Arches watercolor paper. I doubt you'll see any difference in dmax on inkjet paper between 1 and 2 MK positions.

It concerned have two slots with the same MK (might have been PK) inks, and having the second one follow the curve of the first one, I think, and somehow achieving a deeper black.
