Eventually I hope to be able to look at the old photo I want to re-print and know which of the four VM curves I want to use (with the Sepia-Neutral inkset) on the paper being used. But so far, despite using only Epson Archival Matte (EAM) for starters, I'm having to print a "proof" for at least two of the four curves before I can make up my mind. That's quick and easy to do with the curving of the (ab?)normalized (right word?) RGB file coming at the end of the process. I'm so far innocent of any involvement with transfer functions, but if it would come earlier in the process, I guess proofing alternative functions wouldn't be so easy?
