My first foray into achieving a rich goldern sepia was with MIS colour pigs. White paper was doing nasty things to the highlights. Giving the illusion of a cross-over into blue. I then tried printing onto concord 8511 - antique white. This immediately solved the "blue highlight" problem as this paper, while not looking particularly interesting as it has no interesting texture and looks yellow. It printed the best out of my little MIS sample back. (I have only tried four papers) Surely, for those wanting to use a sepia look, the cream/yellow papers would look better, especially in the highlights where there is very little pigment laid down. I would like some recommendations from anyone who has tried any of the warmer toned papers and what they are called. Thanks very much. Garry Sarre www.sarre.com.au
