I have to agree. Until you've actually seen what is possible you have
nothing to measure your success against. 4x5 and larger formats is a kind of
gold standard that you can measure the rest of your efforts against.

It is *very* hard to go back to 35mm for anything other than grabshooting
after you have used even a very cheap 4x5.

In color I would say that buying a digital camera has made the most
difference to me.
