The problem I had was that everytime I used it, I couldn't get what I had the first time. That is the nature of any method that rely on human site and color preseption. An electronic device will read the same every time. Calibrating the monitor is the first and necessary step in color management, but alone is not all that is necessary to get what you see on the monitor. Try Adobe Gamma, then print using the same settings you have been and see if it makes any difference.
