If Bob has Nikon lenses, he might want to stick with that system 
(unless they are older style lenses, some of which won't work on the 
S2).  You then also retain the option of moving to a Nikon or Kodak 
digital camera in the future.  

Good as the D30 is, I personally prefer S1.
