Thank you very much for responding Frank, I am sure I will also be using 2000 too. Based on yours, and other opinions. Now I just have to build a new box. Thanks again and take care. Importance: High Jim, For what it's worth I have use Win2000 (Pro) on my system and have yet to have a reason to change to XP. The reason I responded to your inquiry is because I have similar hardware/software and have yet not been able to run any of it. I have the Nikon LS-40000, Epson 1280, 2000P and 785EPX and all have run great. I also have an HP scanner, which runs well and countless Fire wire & USB connections. I also network the computer, via wireless USB card and the networking allows me to share photo files as well as a cable modem hook up. All in all I'm satisfied with the work and stability of the system. In fact, I'm in the process of building another system with dual processors in a RAID 5 configuration using Winn2000 Pro. I must add though, that I have never tried XP, but have done the WIN 95,98, ME clean installs and Win 2000 is light years more stable than those, at least in my system photo configuration.
