Canon D30 EXIF Information/Photoshop

2002-04-17 by mgvonk

I connect my Canon D30 to my Macintosh PowerBook
G4 via the USB cable and use Apple's Image Capture
utility to download Canon Raw images. I then convert
these to 16 bit/channel TIFF images and open them up
in Photoshop 7.

Is there a way to view picture taking data
(ie. date taken, shutter speed, aperture, flash
status, etc.) in Photoshop? I see that the date
the picture was taken is displayed in the
File->File Info->EXIF dialog box in the TIFF file.
If I save the TIFF image in PSD format, the date
gets changed to the date the file was saved (not
the date the picture was taken). How do I keep
the original date in the PSD file? Should I not
be saving as PSD?

How can I see the shutter speed, aperture, etc.
in either the TIFF or PSD file?

I am an amateur photographer and could use this
information to correct mistakes and improve my
picture taking.
