I have tried Lyson Quad inks for Epson 1290, and found that it gives a very good print on Lyson's glossy paper, a print that looks in the direction of a traditional Multigrade BWprint. Deep blacks and everything.. BUT - ONLY when prints are viewed in 5000 K daylight. In other words: Serious problems with metamerisms. In my opinion this is what makes the Lyson inks unusable for me. I have then experimented with MIS VM inks with Paul Roarks curves. For this I used Epsons Archival Matte, Crane's Museo and some other papers. This gives me beautiful prints, and very neutral with the neutral curve from Paul. And no metamerism problems. But what I miss is the depht and contrast that the Lyson prints has. - A glossy paper with some inks that shows deep blacks and prints well at both glossy and matte papers and shows no metamerisms.. Is it possible at all to produce a digital print that beats the traditional silverbased print in every way? Anyone who has some experiences? Bjorn
