I'm set to crank up my new 1280 printer with Cone software and MIS FS- N ink. The Cone manual says to first set up the printer with the Epson color inks to make sure all is copacetic, then switch to the quadtone inks. I'm sure that's correct if one wants to be very cautious, but a bit of a pain. Any opinions whether it's prudent (not riskfree, but a prudent risk) to simply start up with the MIS inks, without first running the Epson color inks? (As a follow-on, if I do chicken out and run the Epson color inks first, what do I need to do to switch to the MIS inks? Just change cartridges and run a few cleaning cycles? Is this relatively easy, or the hassle I suspect?)
