RE: [Digital BW] Generations ProPhoto Lustre 10 mil

2002-05-01 by Richard Wolfson

I've had good results with Generations ProPhoto Lustre, too. This paper
will take a LOT of ink. To get the best Dmax I find I must print CMYK so
I can put down 100% black plus undercolor. I know of no way to do this
with the Epson driver.

My inkset is custom, using G4 black in the black position. All the grays
are dilutions of G3 black, tinted warm or cool with M+Y or C+M. Using
PressReady and an Epson 1200 (a known gusher) on the PhotoPaper setting
(the most ink), 200% ink (100% K + 100% dark cool gray, in the cyan
position) produces a Dmax of just over 2.5, without any spraying. The
quality of the images and the depth of shadow detail is simply
astonishing.

I'm currently testing RIPs to find softare that lets me duplicate these
results on my 7000.
