printing on fixed fiber paper

2002-05-04 by jarred_mccaffrey

Has anyone tried printing on fixed fiber paper? People often want
the look and feel of a fiber print-- well, traditional fiber paper is
gelatin sized 100% cotton with a baryta base. Seems like this would
work as well as some of the watercolor papers used for pigmented
inks. There should be no question of archival qualities after proper
fixing. What are your experiences here?

Next question-- Assuming fixed fiber paper is a quality substrate,
where can I get a good supply of long expired photo paper cheaply?

Thanks for your help,
