RE: [Digital BW] Epson 1280 for Black and White printing????

2002-05-06 by Jim Panzer

Hey Joel, I believe a lot of people on the list are using the 1280
with the CIS, I got mine for buy.com and the CIS from inkjetgoodies.com. I
am fairly new to this way of making b&w images but so far I love the
results. Also, 300 dollars is a sweet deal for the 1280, hell if you don't
like it you can probably sell it for not that much less. The few prints I
have made are very smooth, I am using the new Tyler curves found on this
lists home page in the files area. If I were you I'd go with the 1280, plus
you can print up to 13 by 44 inch prints if you want, too. Good luck which
ever you choose.

Subject: [Digital BW] Epson 1280 for Black and White printing????

Hello:

I posted several weeks ago that I had purchased a new Epson 1160 online
(at Staples.com) auction site. After six+ weeks waiting and numerous
unreturned phone calls, they said that they actually didn't have an
1160 to auction and offered me an HP inkjet as a replacement.

After rejecting that, they are now offering me an Epson 1280 for the
same price as the winning auction bid on the 1160 (around $300). My
question is, can you make as good quality b&w archival prints on the
1280 as opposed to the 1160? (I know it is hextone v quad). Also, can I
use the CFS system?

Adny feedback will be appreciated.

Thanks,

joel
