I was wondering...

Simply profiling the inksets via Profiler Plus or Profiler Pro may not 
be exact enough given the subtleties of greyscale...

BUT,,,


Profiling could serve a use in the following way...

Supposing when doing the 1270/870 curves Dave FIRST profiles the ink and 
media...

Then writes new transfer curves USING that profile...

That could make the curves a hell of a lot more generic for that 
printer... in the sense that by building other profiles one could 
roughly adjust for media...

Instead of creating newly tweaked curves for each and every paper, one 
could potentially simply profile the paper and then print via Paul's 
Curves..

Pauls' pre-existing curves would be fine for someone unwilling to 
profile  or  adjust the curves for new media, while the "profile driven" 
 curves perhaps could be an intermediate level  solution for those 
working with more media and profiling options..
