Re: [Digital BW] Digital prints as Fine Art

2002-05-09 by daschkenas@aol.com

In the new issue of Architectural Digest, I think on page 176, or close by,
in the description of some of the furniture and art work in the room pictured
it lists 2 black & white digital prints(photographs) by Robert Raushenberg.
Upon closer examination they are indeed 2 b&w photos by the artist obviously
newly printed, digitally. Of course Raushenberg has the reputation and name
as a traditional artist, so buying "digital" prints from him "must be
accepted as real art"
As several on this list have said, if its digital, but done by a recognized
artist, there's no problem with the work being viewed as "real collectable "
art work.
It's not the medium as much as the MAKER.
